A: At least a year after having the tattoo because this is how long the pigment takes to settle into the skin.
Q: How many laser removal sessions will a tattoo need to be removed?
A: The number of removal sessions depends on the quatity of injected ink color, the composition of color used, depth, master’s skill, the size of your tattoo etc. It usually takes 5 to 10 sessions.
Q: Is it possible to have your tattoo completely removed?
A: Monocolor tattoos and professional tattoos are the easiest to remove. Multicolor tattoos may only leave hardly visible outlines.The easiest colors to remove are black, blue and red.
Q: How long does a removal session last?
A: That depends on the size of the tattoo being removed. Typically, it takes 30 to 45 minutes on average.
Q: How long should one wait between removal sessions?
A: Two consecutive removal sessions should be spaced 6 weeks apart.
Q: Is laser removal treatment painful?
A: Laser removal treatment is less painful and less discomforting than tattoing. One may experience slight discomfort only during first removal session as well as during tattoo removal from joint/knuckle areas.
Q: Does skin get damaged during laser removal treatment?
A: No, it doesn’t. After the procedure it is recommened to apply cool compresses. For the rest of the day the client may have a mild burning sensation in the treated area.
Q: Are there any post-treatment instructions for laser removal or any side effects?
A: Yes, there are. One should obey the following rules for a few days after the treatment:
- Quality creams recommended by a pharmacist should be applied to facilitate faster peeling of the skin and encourage its regeneration;
- It is strictly forbidden to forcibly rub the crusts, peel them off or remove them;
- One should avoid washing the treated area with hot water;
- The area should be washed without soap and sponge;
- Avoid sun exposure of the treated area;
- It is recommended to use creams with sunscreen (high SPF) for at least 6 month after the treatment as sun protection;
- Dipigmentation may occur, although very rarely.
